Hello! I'm going to be bringing my first hamster home over the weekend, and I'd like to keep the process as stress-free as possible for the little guy.
The trip home will be very short, about 5 minutes or so, and his carrier cage will have a water bottle, some bedding, and a hide for him to hopefully feel safer inside. It is also well ventilated.
The weather right now is very mild, so there won't be any heat to worry about.
I will have his cage set up and ready for him, and my plan is to very quickly put him inside and let him adjust as long as he needs to.
I've had many rats before, but this is my first hamster, and I would like to make sure he is as comfortable as possible. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
