It can take them a while to decide on one spot for peeing in so it may be hard to find to begin with, if you do find some then it's best to situate the sand tray close to that spot if you can, if you put some peed on substrate in the sand that can help encourage them to use it.
Don't over clean, even with spot cleaning, if you remove every trace of pee they will often just pick a new spot.
