So I want to buy a wood-based bedding as over the next year I'm gradually moving towards more natural looking cage layouts. I'm currently stuck between Hugro Hemp and Aubiose, Hugro I've definitely heard better experiences on but you get twice the amount for the same price with Aubiose. It's just I've heard that there are some spikey bits and my Syrians are both burrowers so I wouldn't want a sharp piece poking them in the eye.

That leads me on to my next question which is How good is Hugro at holding burrows? My newest hamster has taken quite a liking to it and it's truly fascinating. I see him enter a hole one end and come out at the opposite end of the cage, I wish we could see it!

Anyway, yeah so a bedding that keeps burrows up is essential for me and I'm just asking how efficient Hugro is at this? I've been informed Hugro has a nice natural smell to it and isn't spikey but quite soft. Any confirmation?
