Default Re: Silent runner UK?

Lol I had lots of wheel stress at one time. I think I tried all of them. The silent runner is the best wheel I've had but partly because I wanted it screwed to the bars.

No the 12" silent runner won't fit in the maxi duna multy. The wheel is 35cm tall on it's stand and although the maxi duna is described as 36cm tall I think internally it will be a bit less than that at the edges where it curves.

The 28cm trixie wheel will fit. They are very popular wheels too. It's pot luck as to whether it's quiet or not I believe. Most people find them quite quiet but they can get noisy with age. It's a good basic wheel though and your hamster will like it.

I've also had wonky, badly made wooden wheels, sent them back and had another bad one - so I gave up on those and got a wobust wheel (this is before the silent runner came along and I had a very large hamster who was a bit big for the 27cm wodent wheel).

I think wodent wheels do better in a cage hung upside down - they don't spin nearly as freely as the silent runner.

The rodipet wheels may not fit either - they tend to be taller than most, although the heights are listed on the website. I do have a wood rodipet wheel for our robo - the 9" one and it's very nice. Rodipet also sell the wodent wheels.

I would just get the trixie wheel - Amazon sells them as well for £9.99. Unless you want a silent one. If you have space for a saucer and a wheel or were planning to do that, then as someone else suggested, you could just get a saucer for now and take a bit of time on deciding over the wheel so it's less stressful. The 12" flying saucer is fine - and quiet. I have this one

This is the trixie wheel on amazon - might work out cheaper

Just looked at the rodipet wheels. The 27cm one will fit - minimum height is 30.5cm - it's extendable in height and will go taller. Unless you have a particularly large hamster the 27cm will be fine. If you do have a particularly large hamster and need a 12" rather than 11" wheel you'd need to think about a different cage, but for the vast majority of syrians and 11" (27 to 28cm) is absolutely fine

I am not sure it is worth the cost though. It is silent and if you need a silent one it would be that or the trixie wood wheel (which is much cheaper).

Which was the site you got the spilled sand and wonky wheel from? I would definitely say you want to send the lot back for a refund.
