Sweet dreams Adele
My bubbly, funny Syrian Adele unfortunately succumbed to her illness today.
She hadn't been quite herself for a while but after taking a turn last week, we tried a different vets. A wonderful, kind vet held her so gently and examined her carefully and could feel her tummy was enlarged. We tried a course of antibiotics, because she was still eating and drinking although struggling with movement.
Unfortunately, she worsened as the week went on, moving from her house to the coconut pod (no digging in/out required), only eating baby food and staying on the ground level.
I took her back to the vets today, and poor Adele was barely moving. With the growth no better and her health deteriorating, I agreed the kindest move was to pts.
I'm so sad that I couldn't do more for her. She was such a character, from the minute we got her home. Adele had been sat in the pet shop for three months when my daughter decided she was the one, so at least she had a happy life from that point, even though the Barney cage never seemed quite big enough (She escaped three times!).
Rest in peace sweetie
