Do you mean straw or hay Careba? Straw shouldn't be used for hams & if you use hay you need to freeze it for about a week in case of bugs or mites then remove sharp bits that may damage pouches.
Best to just use shredded up plain white toilet tissue for nests/bedding, you ham will love it & you can be sure it's totally safe.
