Default Easy mesh lid for a bin cage with limited tools

Hi everyone

I thought I'd share this neat DIY lid idea for a bin cage I recently had. For people who are worried about their little guys and gals escaping but don't have the tools to cut open a bin cage due to the thickness of the plastic.

You will need:
- Some Garden mesh, something like this will work, just check the spacing for your ham
- Some cable ties, these ones will do
- Some wire cutters/scissors whatever will cut your mesh

The method:
1) Create a mesh larger that the size of your bincage, in the MS Paint drawing below the back is the size of the bin cage, the green the mesh

2) Cut open the corners diagonally

3) Use the diagonal cuts to make a fitted corner

4) Bend the mesh to fit around the bin cage, you can use some clips or zip ties to make a hinge on one side

Tada! A simple bin cage lid, the sides of the bin tend to keep the corners down, or you can use some clips to keep them down!
