Hi, everyone! I am a new first-time hamster mom who has been following a number of posts here and decided it’s a time to introduce myself. A month ago I brought home an adorable sandy-colored Syrian hamster who is about three months old now. Her name is Chiclet, in honor of my late parents, whose favorite brand of gum was Chiclets, and the name just seemed perfect for her. As far as taming, we have made it past a few frightened bites of my finger to a place where she will now comfortably sit in my hand – although not for long; she’s quite active and wants to run run run! She can be a literal handful, and I am 100% besotted with her. She already has me wrapped around her little paw.

I also want to thank all of you for the wealth of advice and information and support that I see in this forum. This is such a great resource, especially for us newbies out here!
