We have a vet appointment tomorrow evening but just wondering what may be causing this.

My hamster is a male Russian dwarf and he is around 2 years and 1 or 2 months old so he is elderly.

I noticed a couple of nights ago that he was making little squeaking noises in his sleep. The noises sound in the same rhythm as his breathing. When he wakes the noises stop completely.

Otherwise he seems well, he has been waiting for his food, happy to come out and play, drinking and I’ve heard him rattling around in the night.

He’s quite visibly old now, he’s lost some weight and looks quite aged and is a bit stiff at times but he still seems bright and happy.

Any ideas?
