I have twin 10 year old daughters and we just purchased two syrian hamsters. We know nothing about hamsters so I totally relied on the store clerk's input. We originally bought two separate cages at the pet store and soon found out they were too small.
So I ordered two ferplast hamster cages online:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 because a friend had one and loves it (she has a syrian). Both of our syrians are now climbing to the top and hanging and swinging (which is a little comical) but they are falling and I am afraid they might get hurt. I hate to lose the money on these cages but I am more concerned about the hamsters at this point.
Are the cages too small? They are two levels and the dimensions are 23.6 x 14.4 x 11.8 inches.
They have the wheel inside, their hidey house and a couple of chew toys and that is it.
Would it be better to purchase aquariums? I am open to suggestions. Thank you.
