You've done the right thing separating them, both will be happier now.
Make sure the smaller one has plenty of food available all the time & I would give her a little extra protein too to build her up now she has a chance to eat properly.
The cut doesn't look too bad as far as I can see but if it doesn't heal up or shows signs of being infected it may need treatment.
Most pairs need separating at some point & it does sound as though these two may have been fighting before you bought them home.
