Pippin's cage needed a clean out (it's been over a month since the last full clean), I took this chance to try a new layout as well. So that there is more to do in his cage and more places to hide. Hopefully, that will help him feel less exposed. Once back in the cage, he explored for a bit and went to sleep into his new two-room house, so I am not sure about his reaction to the new layout yet.
