Default Re: Introducing Liberta

Hissing along with screeching is a sign of fear, invading her nest if she was in it would be very scary for her!
Id she's not peeing in her nest then leave well alone, for the first few weeks you only need to spot clean pee, nests & hoards should be untouched as much as possible, after a few weeks you can do a bit of a clean in the nest if it needs it but always put some of the old nest back.
If you do need to clean pee from the nest it's best to take her out, put her in a carrier with lots of substrate so she's safe & comfortable while you clean.
Do you have a sand bath for her? They really need to have one, use chinchilla sand (not dust) & they will often pee in the sand which makes cleaning even easier.
Most of my hybrids & some of my Chinese have been quite noisy sleepers! As long as she is fine otherwise don't worry about squeaks in her sleep.
