If it’s a concern then check. When they are up allow them to go into a different temporary cage and investigate there borrow. Do not move their borrow around or change things. Also, if you don’t have a second cage. Allow somebody to hold the hamster while you check as it may distress them watching you touch their borrow.

Only do this if it is a problem. Also you can try feeding them a treat. If the hamster eats the treat it would suggest they are eating food ok. If the hamster doesn’t eat the treat do the above
