You need a pet carrier to take your ham to the vet, there area a few different ones but something like this.
Put a good layer of substrate in the base to keep your ham comfortable & warm, I usually put my carrier in a large bag which helps keep it darker inside without blocking the air flow, this will help in the waiting room too if there are other animals, noise & bright lights which can be stressful.
Hope it goes ok at the vet, it can be a bit stressful for them but if you have a good vet who knows how to handle hams then it shouldn't be too much for your ham.
