Looks like he is really enjoying dozing in his sand bath
It sounds like an excited young hamster to me! He is enjoying his cage. Maybe a little bit stressed at the change of substrate, but enjoying it as well. It can be a bit alarming when they flop but they just wear themselves around rushing around.
