Hello there and welcome.
When you go to choose your hamster, ask if you can handle it, or ask if your mum can. some hamsters are naturally friendly, and some pet shops make sure the animals in stock get plenty of human contact so they're ready for their new owners. If it's your first hamster pick a friendly one don't worry about which colour it is etc
