Should I be concerned?
My little Mocho is still hamstering along. No signs of any real problems. However I realised that I had not weighed him for about 4 months. When he turned 2 he was maintaining his weight. Now, he will be 2 years and 5 months in 2 weeks time. So I know he is very elderly. He still uses his wheel but I guess he does not do any real exercise to maintain his muscle tone. He has now lost about 25gms though that could be gradual over 4 months. He is thinner and I handle him very gently occasionally. He has not lost interest in his food at all. I don't want to unbalance his diet too much as he has to have baby food for his daily meds already. Last night he tucked into the porridge it was in with enthusiasm. He has nuts and veg too. Then HH with linseeds, broken SS biscuits and a little Natures Touch.
Is this just inevitable? Obviously I will keep a much closer eye on his weight because I know weight is a major indicator of health problems.
Any advice or reassurance is welcome.
