Meat and animal based foods are definitely not a cause of diabetes.They can be unhealthy in excess of course(except for species which require a true carnivorous diet such as ferrets,cats,and dogs and even then certain things in high amounts aren't healthy).

Junk food comes in every single type of diet,as mentioned,whether you eat animal based foods or not.This applies to any species which is going to require some sort of animal matter in their diet,whether it be humans or otherwise.

At the end of the day,there are going to be inaccurate and misleading movies and articles.Take your time with any source of information,and do extra research to determine just how credible any single source is

Drago has a very interesting point mentioned,and it's something the forum definitely won't agree on.I wouldn't personally feed sugary storebought treats such as yogurt drops,but I will say that different fruit has different levels of sugar and could(depending on individual hamster reaction)potentially be safe enough for extremely rare special treats.
