Default Re: sugary treats?

I've never heard of diabetes being caused by an animal based diet. The reason diabetes often is claimed to be caused by animal based diets is due to the cholesterol and fats found within the meats. This makes the consumer more likely to put on weight and clog up their arteries which causes a whole myriad of issues with diabetes being just one. Besides that, there are multiple types of diabetes, one genetic, and one environmental. It has less to do with what specifically you eat, but rather the condition you keep yourself in. A vegan who eats nothing but junk food all day and lies around, is more likely to get health issues than a meat eater who has a balanced diet and exercises regularly. There's a lot of factors that go into it, and sugar is one. This is why you should avoid sugary treats regardless whether or not they supposedly cause diabetes. They're not healthy for any species anyways so it's best avoided regardless
