I don't know about where you are but in the UK wood shavings are kiln dried & safe to use, if it says kiln dried on the pack then it should be fine, if not then you can't really say for sure.
As far as I can figure out using an online translator which might not be right aspen is still aspen in Dutch!
I did have a look at Zooplus to see what they have in the Netherlands but they don't even seem to do hemp substrate which is a shame so it looks as though carefresh may be your best alternative if you don't want to trust the wood shavings.
