So about two weeks ago I went to Pets@Home to get some rat litter... while I was there I just had to look at the animals! And in the adoption area were two male rats, they were both sleeping in their house so my partner went and asked a member of staff to open their pen so we could get a better look at them.
It was love at first sight, I had to have them! They are not your normal looking rats, one is a rex rat, and the other is a double rex (almost hairless!) To see these in Pets@Home is not a common thing and I had to know more about them. Turned out that both (particularly the double rex) had a URI that could never be treated and as a result they are rather sneezy and snuffly. On their information pages, it said that they were 8 months old, though I do think they are slightly older.
So obviously with all their problems, I had to have them!
