Someone may well correct me on this, but I believe that it is fine to hoover your room while your hamster is in there. They do tend to get used to ordinary household noises and I think I have heard people on this forum saying that they have used hairdryers and hoovers in the same room as their hamster. Personally, I have always moved my hamster out before hoovering their room and I dry my hair in a different room. But, that is probably just me being neurotic. So long as you are not continuously playin loud music next to the cage, your hamster shold be fine.
