Bellatrix, I also don't live anywhere near you so I also unfortunately can't be of any help. I saw your thread and was intrigued since I absolutely love these creatures. I do believe that Stick Insects and Northern Walkingsticks are the same creature, correct? Amazingly, I was leaving my house one day and had the greatest surprise when a Northern Walkingstick was crawling slowly on the brick exterior of my home. He was so well camouflaged that I almost missed seeing him. I couldn't believe it and was truly delighted to see one up close. They are so, SO interesting and truly amazing!!!! You are so very lucky to have had them as a child. If you do end up getting some as a pet now, I would truly love to see pics and hear more about them. They are so very rare to come across where I live that it was a miracle that one came to my house for a visit.
