I have the alexander cage and I love it. I didnt use any of the houses that come with it as my hamster already had a wooden house with a roof that comes off (to make access for cleaning easier) but I painted the shelves with cuprinol garden shades paint and they look fab.
The wheel is the silent runner which is truly wonderful.
