Good idea, getting a bigger cage. If you look on Zooplus, there are a lot of big cages for a reasonable price. The Alexander, which you mentioned is there. Other good options would be the Barney or the Alaska.

As Cypher says, some people let them explore the new cage during playtime before moving them in. However, I just did the move straight away. Take all the substrate, toys, food and and bedding from the old cage and put it in the new so that it smells of home to Nibbles.

Regarding wheels, the quietest one I have found is the silent runner. For a Syrian, you will want the 12 inch version. It is so quiet that it really is almost silent. I have to actually check by sight rather than sound, to see if a hamster is using it! It's also one of the most robust and safe wheels.
