Yeah, from what I've read and noticed it seems to be a noise made when they're annoyed or have been disturbed. My hamster she would only do it when she got woken up by me changing things in the morning, she would come out and run around puffing away and go back to bed.

Now she just knows it's me and doesn't even bother getting out of bed when I'm in her cage Lol
