Default Re: Good food for diabetic hamsters

Higgins+ a lab block would be suitable for a Syrian or possibly a robo, but I personally think it has way too much dried fruit and sugar in it to be suitable for a diabetes prone species. Kaytee isn't a very good brand in all honesty as it has little nutritional value, unnecessary chemicals, and is packed full of dyes so I would avoid it if at all possible. A better protein block would be something like mazuri or Harlan Teklad.

Like Chesca said, Burgess dwarf is really the superior mix as it has high protein, good variety, and is diabetes friendly! Not sure where you're located, but it's a UK based food so it's easier to get if you're in the UK. It can however, be shipped to the US and similar countries from viovet. Sometimes it's also available on websites like Amazon or eBay Best wishes, if you have any other questions, please ask!
