I'd suggest getting a bin instead and making a bin cage
It's cheaper,easy to move,and can actually be expanded if necessary unlike a tank(even a 40 gallon tank can be too small for a Syrian).
The cost doesn't end at just the tank by the way,and if you do end up with a Syrian needing more space(extremely likely,actually,as Syrians do need quite a bit of space)you'll end up wasting a lot of money(40 for the tank alone at Petco,not Petsmart as they don't do the sale,and then anywhere from 20-40 for a lid,and if you don't have a stand that can end up costing over 100 dollars extra).
