I find Syrians like larger houses. Ours would ignore a small house but liked the bigger ones because he could build a really big nest inside it. I also found putting a bendy bridge over the door attracted him to nest in the larger house as it made it dark inside and had a tunnel entrance
Agree with Flower Fairy - a house is best open underneath and on top of a good deep layer of substrate (5 to 6" or more) so they can bury hoards in the house and burrow down.
You could try a shoebox house. It's a good size. Cut the bottom out of a shoebox and a hole in front for a door. The lid can be a lift-off roof so you can check inside without taking the house out, so her nest doesn't fall apart. And a bendy bridge tunnel over the door
