I wouldn't really see much benefit in it as it's not made for hamsters and thus it really doesn't need to be safe (though some hamster specific items aren't safe!) However, there really wouldn't be much harm in it granted it's not painted, 100% non-toxic, and has never come into contact with toxic substances. Make sure there's no sharp pieces or other hazards and constantly monitor for chewing. If there's any chewing at all, you'll need to remove the item immediately. Just my opinion! Definitely an interesting question though I must say
