Has he had any red coloured treats? Sometimes they put something special in the toilet corner and colour leaches out. I once thought I found diarrhoea in Charlie's wheel - turns out it was wet food
I hope he is ok. Maybe put a bit of torn up tissue paper over his potty then if it happens again it will show up (if he doesn't remove the tissue paper first that is).
