Rats love to have TONS of toys in their cages, their cage should be filled with many hammocks, chains, baskets, and shelves. As amity said, avoid cotton because it's harmful for just about every small animal due to the fact that it can wrap on limbs, teeth, and can harm their digestive systems. I am not thinking of getting the rats anytime soon like in about a month or so, I'm thinking of getting the cage next week and then start getting the supplies and building up the cage so it is to a suitable standard. Want to make sure I'm prepared before I get them, I'm really stumped on what cage to get as the one I was thinking of getting wouldn't be suitable for young rats and I can't spend over £150 on a cage and I don't have the space for a savic royal suite (I wish I did!) in my room
