My hamster made a funny squeal last night too, she's not in pain and seems fine, running around and eating food etc but I think it might have been because her wheel broke late last night and she was annoyed as it wasn't in there any more. I gave her a plain cardboard box to climb and play in and she seemed to stop the noises. Bought a new wheel today so we'll see what she thinks to that!!
