thanks for the responses. Feel a bit reluctant to try it to see as the consequence is a lost hamster, but I think you're right in that it would be ok.
I don't agree on the better cages (really not a fan of the alaska, or bin cages, and I did get the Duna Multy, but going to send it back - really don't like it). I might write a post about why I feel this way and why I do feel imac's are one of the better cages, could generate a bit of interesting discussion - but appreciate with regards to this post, I asked a question and you're trying to help and I do appreciate that, so doesn't feel right to start wading in here with my views
I'm not an avid forum poster anymore, but long term keeper of hamsters and have had just about every cage possible, haha!
