Thank you all for your advise.

We have now moved fudge into the smaller cage, the shop recommended a barred cage so I went for that. Things seem to be going well. She is climbing into her ball now and I had my first stroke tonight. There hasn't been any more screeching which is good news.

Just another question, I got her out and she was in her ball and seemed to really enjoy it. Once I put her back she was walking around and letting me touch her. Once I put the top part of the cage back on she seemed to be running around really quickly and climbing to the areas which she knew she had got out of. Is this a sign of stress or maybe putting her scent back on in her cage?
