Sorry! It sounds like I misunderstood. I thought you said there was some webby thing in the bottom corner of the cage! Anyway forget all the above if you've got the moth issue solved. If it's just a case of whether to change things when you do a clean then as others have said, it's probably ok to add some new things, especially if you're only changing half the substrate.
