Default Re: Since when did these become safe?

Times like this, I wish I had gotten pictures of what happened to one of my old roborovskis.
A long time ago, I used fluffy bedding. It was 'safe and natural, made from plant fibres'.
At one point, when I had the little guy out for a cuddle, I noticed he had some 'poo' sticking out of him that wasn't just falling out. He also wasn't really protesting to the handling as he usually did.
So, I grabbed some tweezers, got the end of the 'poo' and gently started pulling it out...and got a lump of 'safe' nesting material and faeces that was almost half the size of his body.
He survived, thankfully, and I stopped using the fluffy stuff shortly after (no ill effects to my Syrian at the time, nor any previous Syrians, so I thought it was just because of his smaller size. Also, as this was over 10 years ago, I didn't really have the knowledge I do now). Now I only use tissue, and it upsets me whenever I do see unsafe products like that, and ignorant people spouting about how 'safe' it is.
