Default Bye Bye Fluff

I originally posted this 'Epitaph' on Pippins thread as Fluff wasn't on HC but have decided to pop this into the memorials section anyway.Rads & Pippin aka Pip

Dear All,
I have much regret in writing this but today Friday7/10 Pip's Hammy friend Fluff who has vacationed with us and Pip has vacationed with her, was found in her forever sleep this afternoon by her pet human when he returned from work.
We has assumed that she had suffered a stroke, which may have happened last week as she was acting a bit weird for one day then seemed to be back to her normal self but with extra long periods in her nest. When she was found today there was evidence of blood from her nose, mouth and ear.

A little précis on Fluff, as she wasn't on the Forum,

I rescued Fluff from a little pet shop where she was trying to chew her way out of the back of the cage in which was made of thin Aluminium and was damaged from her attempts of escape.
I reported the pet shop to the RSPCA and the place closed down soon after.
My estimates of her age was at least 6 months when I rescued her, she was big for a hamster more like a Rat with an amputated tail..!(She weighed 310grams and was a good 8 inches long with out stretching)

Her colouration was like a seal point Siamese cat, with light creamy grey long fur with a dark nose and ears she looked flipping gorgeous..

Pip was adopted by my very good friend as a pet for his little boy who was soon to be turning the sprightly age of 2years old. That was in June 2015...

My friend's son has loved Fluff and helped take care of her all the time she has been part of his family, even when she bit him he was not deterred, when he had veggies on his dinner Fluff had some too, always fed by hand she would take these proffered little treats with such care from such a little hand...

Fluff would build the biggest nests in Hamsterdom, and could eat for the Hammylympics Gold medal assured..!
She loved her ball and would spend many hours running about their flat, where she would follow my friend's son about and would come when called by him.. Fluff was an avid climber and general mischief maker, and she will be sorely missed.. We estimated that Fluff was about 2 years old.

Tonight I have spent a few hours in the pub with my friend and Fluffs former human discussing how to break the news to his son when he goes back over to his dads on Sunday... Not an easy task but how do you explain to a three year old that their much loved pet has died...?
We settled on that Fluff had been poorly and had not got better.
My friend has buried Fluff at the lakeside that is his son's favourite place where he goes to feed the ducks and geese, she will have a memorial plant put there to mark her resting place..

That's it from me as I am struggling to write any more as I can't see the keyboard as I blink back a tear or three.
Fluff had a poor start to a short life, but was rescued, adopted and loved very much by a little boy and his dad.
RIP Fluff, I hope you are causing chaos and general mayhem where ever you are now..
Dave aka Rads just a friend
