I think it is a bit stressful to move them between cages a lot. It sounds as if your current lifestyle isn't really ready for the commitment of a pet right at this time. Leaving them most weekend and some weekdays will always carry an element of risk as they could get ill, hurt, trapped, bored, drain the water bottle, escape and if you were not around to sort out these matters then it could be serious.
It would also be unfair to not let them have playtime, handling and out of cage time for days when you are away in my opinion.
Maybe wait till you are more settled and make plans for that time when you can give a hamster the constant care it needs?
