Move the trap into a new location as if he got in a wall or under the door they often can't figure out how to return to the original room. Oh and the longest I have had and escaped Syrian was 4 weeks. She's still not tame and tries nightly to escape even though she is now in a glass tank which she can't reach the lid nor can she chew a hole in the bottom. So I say don't quit looking but move the trap to a new location since it has shown no signs the little one is still in the original room.
