There seems to be confusion over sunflower seeds being healthy for diabetic hamsters. One cup of sunflower seeds contains 818 calories

72 gm of fat

28 gm of Carbohydrates

29 gm of Protein

You want a diet that is high in fiber and low in carbs and sugars.
There is also fiber and sugars in sunflower seeds, obviously high in fat

I am a beginner at nutritional values and what they mean but maybe this will help clearify the confusion
