I know I may be jumping ahead but what if neither vet can get rid of the mites due to an bigger internal health issue? She mentioned Cushings or lymphoma?

What if this second vet can't get rid of the mites either? Is it cruel to let your hamster suffer with mites the rest of his life?

He still acts like a hamster although he is more reclusive and really suffering from the mites?
