My hamster Nightlock lives in two bins that are joined together with habitrail ovo tubes. I recommend bin cages they are awesome there super cheap and if the walls are high enough it doesn't even need a lid. My two bins measure 616sq inches all together. the cons are that if you have short arms like me you might find it hard to pick your hamster up out of the cage. If in the sunlight it can get very hot inside. That's all really in my opinion bin cages are great. Hope this helped
