Honestly a lid would be better.Without good ventilation,tank style cages can get very smelly in no time at all even if they're large!That usually means having a lid,not just tiny ventilation panels.It isn't even hard to make a lid,as long as you can use a stapler and get wood cut at a hardware store or lumber store!
