I had a noisy wheel with Maxi once. I put a little bit of coconut oil on the spindley bit and that worked a treat. And it won't do a hammy much harm if they try to eat it. If it is a free-standing wheel I always try and get them on a softer surface - tissue or deeper substrate, it can help too
