I can't quite imagine how he walks up to a corner and relaxes on his back and rubs up against the cage
If he has somewhere to retreat to, like a good sized house, he would probably go in it if he is scared. They can act a bit strange after a cage clean or something changing in the cage though, like a bit of a shock reaction.
