I just watched a video by Erin ' s animals on You Tube
She says that solid Pine cages, houses & chews are perfectly safe due to the process of that wood has been treated to take out harmful phenols & acids.

Kiln dry Pine shaving are fine too if not too dusty. But the wood chips go through some kind of heat process that also removes the phenols.
