It needs to be wet bedding really, how close is it to her nest? The closer it is the more likely she is to use it, they can be a bit lazy if they wake up & need a pee!
Once they start using a litter tray & get the idea it doesn't really matter how soon or often you scoop it out but to begin with if she does use it best to leave it a while.
