It doesn't seem worth the risk to me to use reptile sand,since it generally costs around 10 dollars or more for good sand and that's not considering the massive vet bills if something does go wrong from that or even death potentially.

Play sand costs half the price if not less than reptile sand,and is much safer and risk free and easier to obtain than chinchilla sand if that's a problem since I know the chain pet stores don't really carry chinchilla sand in the US(except one).
